word crashes upon saving document

If I save my document and then immediately close the
application (by way of the top right 'X') word
immediately crashes and shuts itself down. I've sent a
gazzillion error reports to microsoft but apparently they
haven't gotten around to fixing it. any ideas

Hi Doug,

What version of Word are we talking about here? What patches have been
installed? You can find this information under Help/About Microsoft
Word.

Did Word come installed as part of Works Suite? If so then more than
likely the "Microsoft Works Suite Add-In for Word" could be causing
the problem. Take a look in your Control Panel in Add/Remove Programs
and uninstall the Works Add-in.

Note you are not uninstalling Word or Works, just an add-in that
integrates some Works features into Word.
