Word crashes when pasting and formatting

When I paste something from the clipboard and then tell it to format to the
current document, word crashes. I'm using Word XP, have all updates. This has
only occurred since a system reinstall a few weeks ago.

Unexplained crashed invariably are due to various kinds of corruption or an
installation issue. In this case, I'd suspect the latter and try Help -
Detect and Repair. If that doesn't fix it, try here:
