Word Crashes

Using Panther I did the following
* Dragged Office Folder to HD
* Installed Value Pack from the CD
* Updated (Both Updates) from the CD
* Launched Word ­ Crashed at Startup

Came up with a workaround.
* Installed Word into a new folder
* Used the Installer this time
* Tossed out the old Word
* Dragged the New folder to the Office folder
* It works
* But all Office apps start up very slowly

Can only infer the following
* The culprit is either:
* Value Pack
* Update One
* Update Two

I am curious to hear the groups thoughts on this problem which seems to be
afflicting many of us.
