I found that searching for *.dot I found 4 .dot files that
were added on 4-14-04. 1 in particular was
c:\windows\applicationdata\microsoft\templates which was a
large file. I deleted it and the other 2 that were
modified on 4-14. Word works now! I don't know where the
files came from unless it was an automatic update from
Microft.
