On my desktop PC running windows ME and winword I have been trying to open
a certain word document from a floppy disk and I get an error msg saying
that the file mso9.dll has caused an error and needs to close. All the
other word files on the floppy open fine. Is it a corrupted file?

Yes. NEVER EVER work directly to a floppy disk in Word. It is the NUMBER ONE
cause of corrupt documents.

Always save to your local hard drive and then copy to/from the floppy. The
advice is the same for nearly all removable media too.
