word doc format changes

Greetings:

I create a document in word (W98)on my floppy and it looks
fine..but when printed or reopened it has lost all
indentation and other basic formating and has junk text at
end of document.

When I open these files on another computer it looks and
behaves just fine...what is the problem with my first
computers word set-up?

Very weird and annoying.

Thanks for any heads up.

In the File > Open dialog box, make sure that the file type is
not set to "Recover Text from Any File". Does that help?

I suspect Stefan answered the question you asked, but it is also possible
that your document is corrupted. Working in Word with a document on a floppy
(saving, editing, printing) is one of the best ways known to corrupt that
document. Work with your documents on your hard drive and use Windows to
copy them to/from a floppy.

Greetings:

Thanks for the insight...it worked!!!. Great. I have now
stopped using floppies for direct work and found the file
setting set mistakenly as Stephan thought. Thanks again!
