Word doc. -vs- Wordpad doc.

This is my 2nd try on this. I have Word 97. I recently
reformatted, installed XP, and Word 97. Later, for some
unknown reason, all my Word documents converted to
Wordpad. I was advised to go to Run and
enter "Winword.exe /r", but the computer tells me it
cannot find Winword.exe. Is there another way I can get
my Documents back to Word format?

If you have Word 97 on your PC then you have Winword.exe as it is the
executable part of Word. The Run tool simply cannot find it. Browse to the
folder that contains it from the Run dialog and select it (clue - it will be
in a sub folder of C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office). Then add the /r
switch to the filename and away you go.
