word document date

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I'm trying to create an invoice for last month + I cannot stop word from automatically inserting today's date. This occurs in a template I downloaded from microsoft.

Go to Insert menu choose Date and time choose desired format and make sure that automatically update is unchecked.
