Word document 'tick' boxes change to circles

Hi
I have a Word document that originally has 'tick' boxes (it is on my laptop
in that format).
However opening this on my desktop computer the boxes change to circles!
I think the font & format is the same on both laptop & desktop & they run
the same MSWord version (Office 2003 Student ed).

How can I get the circles to be replaced by the boxes?!!

I am grateful for any help with this. Thanks
