WORD document with numbering

Product: Word 2003
I am typing rules for a bowling league, automatically numbered after I typed
"1." My problem is that about half way down the 2nd page, the document
started tabbing over about 5 spaces after the number, but not on EVERY
number. The document is four pages and on the last page, every number had a
tab after it. When I go to backspace and remove tabs, the number is deleted,
and i must go back to last sentence of previous number and reenter the next
number again. The tab appears again. Therefore, half the document has the
sentence after the number next to the number, and the other half has a tab.
It looks bad. I would like the oringinal small spacing after the number to
be the used. Please help.

If you create a template to hold your numbering scheme, you can use that
template as the basis for new documents (using File > New) and the new
documents will then inherit your numbering scheme. To do that, see:
