Word does not start up because it cannot read the files for Speech recognition

I am using Microsoft Word 2002 (Office XP with service pack 2)

When starting word I get the message (translated from Danish) that

MSWord cannot read the files for Speech recognition (which I have never
used).

MS cannot install the necessary files due to error 1605 in Windows
installer.

This action is valid only for products presently installed.

I then have to press OK several times - the above message tends to persist -
a new messages that Word has to close down. On restart I can choose safe
mode; if I choose normal mode, the problems start over.

I have for some months been using Office 2003 Beta. After the trial period I
removed Office 2003 Beta and reinstalled Office 2002.

Thank you for any suggestion

Run Office Setup (from Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs) and under Office
Shared Features you will find Alternative Inputs. Make that Unavailable and
when you OK, Setup will remove the files and shouldn't look for them again.

I can only guess that there is some residue from the 2003 causing the
problem then. Maybe installing speech recognition and disabling it may
resolve the problem.
