word doesn't break the pages correctly

I have several WPF documents that I am working with. I
need to make notes of how many pages each document consist
of. The problem is that word doesn't seem to break the
pages correctly. Instead of showing me the right page
numbering (I make comparisons with the table of contents),
word states in swedish (I have a swedish version) that
there is an unknown "shifting argument". When I opened
these documents in an english version, no problems
appeared when it comes to the numbering of pages. Is it
the language that creates problems? Or the settings?

G'day "Hanna" <[email protected]>,

Try shifting from print > normal > print views again, or Ctrl+End to
go to the end of the document. Also, you need to F9 the Table Of
Contents (TOC) to get it to update.

An automatic table of contents in Word is a field, which needs to be
updated in order to display correctly. You can force an update before
printing if you enable the option to "Update fields" on the Print tab
of the Options dialog box, which is accessed from the Tools menu.
Maybe this option is selected for one Word version but not for the
other?

Are the two different language versions of Word installed on computers
with different Windows Regional settings (look in Control Panel)? The
Regional settings determine which characters are recognized as list
separators, decimal symbols, and so on in Word field codes. (The field
code instructs Word what type a field is, how its result should be
formatted for display, and so on.)

Are some built-in styles other than the headings included in
the table of contents? This could cause a problem across language
versions, because when you specify a style to be included in a
table of contents, Word adds its name to the field code, and the names
of built-in styles are -- of course -- different in different
languages.

You can display field codes by pressing ALT+F9. How does the code for
the table of contents look?
