Word doesn't respond at all

When trying to access word from wither shortcuts or any
individual document files the computer doesn't repsond and
i have to restart the computer. Scan-disk and norton
security can't find any thing wrong with the whole system
and the other applications all work but when loading the
word files the computer responds by saying that the
computer doesn't have enough resources to run the program
so we have to restart the computer!

I think we have the same problem. I run Word 2000 with Win 98, Office
2000, NAV and ZoneAlarm. It just started happening today. I need to
use my Word ASAP! I've run NAV with Live Update many times and it
finds no virus! What could be wrong! I've run it while suspending
ZoneAlarm, Adware, etc. but it still locks up. Doesn't go past the
opening screen! Please help!
