Word Double-Spacing when I hit return

Normally when I type in Word and hit return, it goes to the next line. Now it is skipping a line. I've checked my paragraph settings and it is set on single-space. I can't figure out how to get it back. Help!

Possibly your paragraph style has some Space Before/After. If not, make sure
that the vertical alignment (Layout tab of Page Setup) is set to Top and not
Justified.
