I put 2008 on my computer to work with endnote. I need help in using this. I can not find any way to insert the citation through the tool menu like previously. Suggestions?

Hi

Cite While You Write doesn't work completely in Word 2008 because Visual
Basic for Applications (VBA is a programming language that used to be
supported on Mac office) is no longer part of Mac office.

The EndNote folks had to build a new application that tries to get
around the lack of VBA as best as possible.

If CWYW is critical to you, the options are to use Word 2004 or wait
till the next major release of office becomes available when VBA is
promised to return to the Mac Office product.

It works fairly well for me...

The new add-on has been a massive rewrite to work around the lack of VBA
and I must say that the new version looks more responsive to me.

What wrong with CWYW for you Jim ?? I just finished a couple of
manuscripts and I was able to use this feature without any problem,

Hi,

I use 2004 so I don't have any problems at all, but some people reported
some issues and Thompson does have a note about it on their web site.

You are right. It's about two features I never use (and the warning
wasn't there when I downloaded the add-on):
• Figure commands result in unexpected issues with the CWYW tools. We do
not recommend working with figure lists with EndNote X1 and Word 2008.
• The CWYW keyboard shortcuts do not work, so you must use the menu
items or the toolbar.

The only thing I miss is the templates (they require VBA so they aren't
compatible).
