Word Error 5502.

Hi All,

I am using Public drive on windows 2000 server to share
documents used by around 50 users.

When they try to save any document on this public drive on
the server it comes up with this error:-

"Microsoft word Savedoc Error 5502 : The disk is full or
too many files are open."

When they save on the local machine it works fine. This
problem occurs only when they try to save it on
the Server public drive.

Plzz suggest

I have assigned Full Control permission to Public Drive

Still its not coming up with same error. It was working
fine for last 1 year but this problem has started for 2-3
weeks now.

I'm not sure what the problem could be at this point. :-(

If the problem doesn't occur when saving to their local drive then
that indicates the problem doesn't lie in Word but rather a problem
with the network - thus the permission suggestion.

However, the "SaveDoc" cited in the error leads me to suspect the
problem lies in a third-party utility that backs up the documents
perhaps? That's something to look into.
