Word is one buggy piece of software. I count on it crashing at least 5
times a day on me, or giving me grief.
Almost all of the crashes are linked to 2 issues:
1. Numbered lists
2. Tracked changes
I work with a large document - 200 pages. There are a plethora of numbered
lists in this document. Word seems to make it's own decision if the
numbered list will continue from the previous list or not, and often if I
cange an item or two it will suddenly decide to link all the numbered lists
together. As well, changing a numbered list will also somehow change the
indenting of the list or the paragraph. What a pain! I have finally
decided to remove all numbered lists and number them by hand.
When numbered lists are combined with "Tracked Changes" these lists cause
crashes galore.
Tracked changes has so many bugs that it is difficult to use.
Several of these problems have existed since Word 97 and maybe before...
MS, when can we expect some relief with these problems?
