word et al no longer start

My office XP has been running great for months.
Unfortunately, I downloaded an optimzer from ZDNet and
erased something - so when I try to start any of the
office products, the installer program starts.

Unfortunately, I am on a 'take home' agreement with my
school board. We take the installation cds home, and then
we MUST return them. Right now, the installation cds are
locked in the school.

Because Word (or whatever) can't find the install cd, the
program shuts down.

I can't unerase because I've emptied the recycle bin.

Any suggestions?

Does the "optimizer" you used have an undo feature?

If not, you will need the Office XP CDs.
