Word, Excel, Outlook Open VERY Slowly

Suddenly the Microsoft products on my system activate very slowly

Takes Win-XP some 5 MINUTES to load

Takes Word, Excel, Outlook some 2 minutes to get to a response (window
opens but must wait 2 minutes for program to be active)

The Add/Remove window does not populate

System had Norton stop the virus WINFIXER - put into quarantine
Registry looks clean of winfixer
No other virus or bugs in evidence

IExplorer works ok - goes to web sites ok

Any suggestions would be appreciated
