word: File Is Not Available

Help!

When I attempt to open Word files, I receive the error
message:

The file XYX is not available

I can open the file from other machines, just not this
one.

I am running XP and Word 2003.

PLEASE HELP!

I have the same problem, and found the same suggestions to fix it, bu
the problem is that we're using Symantec Corporate v8, and I can't fin
a "Word plugin" anywhere on the console, if there is one. Does anyon
know the fix for THIS conflict?

I work for a small nonprofit and we just acquired Office Pro 200
(we're upgrading from '97!), and now I have one computer that can'
access its own documents and I'm afraid to upgrade the others.
Microsoft's "help" people say I can't get free installation hel
because I bought a five license copy ?! This makes no sense either..

If Norton AV was installed at one time then the DLL for the Office
Plug-in could still be registered.

Search for : officeav.dll

If you find it then go to Start/Run and run the following command:

regsvr32 /u "<path>\officeav.dll"

not include information on Norton CE but it will contain additional
details on the unregister command if you need them:
