Word Form Problem

We received a form that one user can not edit. I checked
four other computers including one with identical hardware
and the form can be edited on those. We use Office 2000
and Windows 2000. I'd guess there is a setting somewhere,
but I can not find it. Any ideas?

Beth,

I have no idea. How would I find out? I believe this
document was created by someone in the New York State
government.

Hi Lysle,

Is the document in a protected state and you are only able to type in
various fields that you navigate using your Tab key? Or when you
create a new document based on the template a dialog box of sorts
displays and the data you type in the form is populated on the Word
document?

Off-hand, since you did not create the document, I suspect you are
using Word form fields. By chance does the user see something like:
{FORMTEXT} in the document? If so, close the document, press Alt + F9
to toggle off the display of field codes, reopen the document and see
if that resolves it.

Beth,

Sorry for the long response delay. Alt-F9 worked. I had
tried this, but with the document open. Using Alt-F9
before opening the document worked the first time.

Yeah, the first step, to close the protected document, was an
important one. Sorry - I should have emphasized it a little more. But
