Word Freezees

Pentium III, 450hz, 360 ram 80 gig HD.Windows 2000
Microsoft Office 2000 Word kept freezing so I reformated
C; and reloaded Windows 2000. Loaded Word. Loaded Window
2000 updates, Word still froze.
So I reformated C; again and reloaded Windows 2000. Loaded
Word. Loaded Window 2000, ZoneAlarm, F-Secure-Anti Virus.
Word stills freezes in the middle of working on a document.
Have to reboot and recover file to continue.
Did not upload the Window 2000 updates this time.

Any Ideas would be appreciated.
All software is legit and registered.
