Word Freezes System

Like many others Word is locking up my PC which then warns
that it is dangerously low on resources. Has anyone got
the answer.........please

found I had gotten some sort of Word document in Start Up.
I removed that and then changed the word template as
instructed and the problem was solved. Good luck. If you

I have the same problem, Word 2000 is freezing my system,
nothing will open and I have to reboot. I don't understand
the answer - what is Q290771?

I have examined my Start Up files and don't see any Word
documents there.
