Word hangs when open certain doku

I have Windows XP and when I open Microsoft Word
(XP) and begin typing, or just after a while without doing
anything, I get an error report
saying "Word has encountered a problem and needs to be
closed" and asks if I want to 'send' or 'dont send' and
error report. I have all the latest updates and SPs for
both Windows and Office. The strange thing is that when I
opens some documents it happens after a few seconds but
not for all documents. Sometimes it works fine for a while
and then it happens again. It´s seems unlogical.

If there are specific documents that consistently cause a problem, then
there is a strong likelihood that they are corrupt. See

Although this may seem illogical, but are you using a Brother printer?
Someone has reported that a Brother laser printer driver causes this
problem.
