Word has insufficient memory. - Word XP, PDFMaker

I can't find anything anywhere. I have always managed to
get PDFMaker with Windows 2000 and Office 2000, or Windows
XP and Office 2000 to work, but now I have Windows XP and
Office XP and cannot get this to work.

This doc does have MANY cross-references and links. That
is where I am getting the error messages. I have 11 GB of
space available on my machine and I have about 600 MB of
memory.

I'm having the same problem. Plenty of memory unused too.
Now I remember why I went back to Office 2000 from XP.
Surely MS can fix this. Or not.

If you're willing to give up the links inside of the PDF,
instead of using PDF Maker, do a "normal" print to PDF.
