This should be straightforward...but MS Help is not being helpful. All I
want to do is embed the subject from File:properties into my document.
Thoughts?

Hi

Try Insert > Field. The layout of the dialog box you now see depends on your
version of Word, but look for Document Properties or DocProperty.

If you have to do this a lot, it's probably quicker to type the field
directly. Do ctrl-F9, then type (eg) "Title" or "Author" (no quote marks)
between the braces that Word gives you.

Note that you can't type the {} braces by hand. You must use ctrl-F9 and
type between the braces that Word inserts for you. Once you've typed the
field, use F9 to update it, or ctrl-a F9 to update all fields in the
document.

Hope this helps.
