First, Windows has to be able to handle right-to-left writing. It depends on
your Windows version. Is it Windows XP? With some earlier versions of
Windows, you needed a special Arabic version of Windows. Ask about enabling
Arabic support in windows.xp newsgroups.
Second. Do you want Word menus in Arabic? Then you'll have to purchase and
install an Arabic version of Windows. If you are in Italy, this might be
difficult.
If you just want to create documents in Arabic (write a letter in your own
language), you'll have to enable Arabic support in Microsoft Office (it used
to be in Microsoft Office Tools-Language folder on the Start menu. NOTE: if
your version of Windows does not support Arabic (or Arabic support is not
enabled), then you'll not be able to use Arabic as a language in Word
documents.
