Word Keeps Crashing & AutoRecovering

While I'm typing and switching between documents, I find that lately when I
switch between 2 word docs multiple times, Word crashes. Then I have to
re-open, and the docs have been recovered...this is incredibly frustrating.
Any ideas?

Anti-virus hasn't picked anything up.

Does it actually crash or does the application simply end?
