Word Mail Spell Check in Office 2000

The auto spell check feature has been lost when using word as the email
editor. The mis-spelled words are no longer underlined eventhough the proper
options are check within outlook. When Word is launched seperately as a word
processor the feature works properly. How do I get this feature re-instated?

Not only is it the same version, i.e. off the same CD installed at the same
time etc. It has been working in the past and the user has no idea, of
course, why it quit. I check all of the settings I could find and all were
correct.

With an Outlook message open, is the spellcheck option checked?
Tools->options->customize->spelling and grammar?

Yes the option is checked. That's why this doe not make sense.

Last option is to run detect and repair to see if that fixes it.
