Word miscounting pages

B

Barb

My document always says my total number of pages is odd, even when its even.
If I start with 353 pages, and take out 1, then it says I have 351. However,
when I publish to PDF, another page is added to make it even.
My pages are 5.25 by 8.
Please help,
Barb

I've discovered that my program recognizes page 8 and page 10, but there is
no page 9. What do I need to do?

Have you restarted numbering at 10, or do you have an Even Page section
break there?

I have 6 pages which are all New pages breaks and are fine. The 7th and 8th
pages have graphics and they are fine. The 9th page is my first numbered page
(1), but it is not an odd page break. This page is called page 10 on my page
count at the bottom on the left. The odd/even pagination actually begins on
page 2 and works well to the end of the document, which is 344 actual pages.
Counting the other 8 pages, my total count is 352 pages.

Now, something weird is going on here. The longer I work on this document,
trying to correct this anomalie, the program is adding additional pages. The
total count went up to 369! So I opened the same file I had saved in 93-2003
format for my sister, and it began to do the same thing. Now it has 359 pages!

I've been using 2003 for a year and never had a single problem with
formatting that I couldn't figure out. I just bought this software yesterday,
and have spent the last 24 hours trying to fix problems.

Before I downloaded this, I tried downloading a 2007/2003 converter which
didn't work. Do I need to remove that converter program? Is tha's what's
causing all this headache?
