word not displaying pictures

Re-Chord

after inserting a picture or piece of clipart into word
it will not display, although it is there in print
preview, and if you right click edit the picture you can
edit it directly as is normal

any comments would be appreciated

Tools | Options | View:

1. Check the box for "Drawings."

2. Clear the check box for "Picture placeholders."
