Word not opening in maximized window

Hi All,

When I open Word it only fills half the desktop. I can click the maximize
button, but this leaves a space around word.

After maximizing, shutting down word and then restarting the same problem.

I cannot move word around all I can do is maximise or minimize.

Any thoughts - apart from reinstall :)

MAny thanks

Sounds like a problem with the operating system saving your profile/user
settings, or the operating system in general, since "maximize" doesn't
fill the screen. I would suggest you determine what all is not working
right with your operating system as the Word issue appears to only be a
symptom of a bigger problem. So, in summary, see what else acts oddly
and then post the symtoms and question in a group dealing with the
operating system on your computer.

The position and size of the Word application window is stored in the
Word/Data key in the Registry. It sounds like it could be
damaged/corrupted and the updates are not being saved.

Follow the steps in this article for recreating the Word\Data key in
the Registry (ignore the title - the steps in the article are
appropriate). Note all you need to do is rename/delete the Toolbars
value of the key instead of recreating the entire key:
