word not opening

I have not been able to open word or any word document for
about a week now. It just freezes, then when you try
control,alt,delete, it says...system is dangerously low on
resources. I have to completley shut down, control,alt,
delete will not work again. I see this is a recurring
problem with many people, we need a fix. thanks
