Word not remebering Maximize Window sixe?

Hello all,

Office 2003 Pro - all updates installed. XP SP1.

A couple of times now, after opening a downloaded document (from MS),m Word
has changed it's "Maximized Window" size - shrinking to leave an inch or two
of space at the top of the screen.

If I click on the maximize icon and shrink the window - no problem as I can
resize the window to fill the screen. But, clicking on Maximize again
restores the locked, maximized window to it shrunken state.

I fixed it before by runnning repair - but hate doing this often as it is
rather inefficient.

All other Office apps do NOT exhibit this behaviour.

Try another way for resizing general window size such as windows explorer.

Open the window (or document) and immediately use mouse to resize the window
to the shape you like, close it, and open it right away.
