Word only will open in safe mode

Word 2002 only will open in safe mode for me now. This morning it was fine.
Later, at a college website, I clicked on a hyperlink to a Word document and
selected "Open." Word said it encountered a problem and needed to open in
safe mode. Now I can't open Word in normal mode at all; Ihave restarted my
computer, uninstalled and reinstalled Word, deleted cookies and Internet
files, nothing works.
