Word opening edatasecurity encrypred docs read only

The header says it all, really. Using Word 2007 on an Acer laptop. I
have one folder (work) set to encrypted using the built-in
edatasecurity program.

The problem: When I open a doc from the encrypted folder, it will only
open as read only. If I set the file attributes (in Explorer) as
read/write, they automagically reset to read only.
The only way I can edit my own documents is to save them unencrypred
under a new name...sigh.

I'll post this on an Acer site too, but here's hoping a Word expert
will help solve a very annoying problem...
