Word opening in Safe Mode

T

Tammy

We have updated one of our computers to Adobe 8.0 Standard. Since we have
done this, we are not able to open Word without being in safe mode. We
receive the following a pop up box:

********************************************
Microsoft Office Word has encounteered a problem & needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience.

___ Recover my work and restart Mircrosoft Word.
*********************************************

Then we place a check in the recover my work and the following box comes up.

*********************************************
Word failed to start correctly last time. Starting Word in safe mode will
help you corect or isolate a startup problem in order to successfully start
the program. Some functionality may be disabled in this mode.

Do you want to start Word in safe mode?

Yes No

*************************************************
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get the update for Acrobat 8 from Adobe as you have installed an out-of-date
version.

We are also having the same problem with new imaged laptops on D620. We have
Adobe Standard loaded and now when our users open up Word it only wants to
open up in safe mode. We changed all the macro levels to low in the Microsoft
office 2003 suite. We also renamed the normal.dot documents for our users and
then had them re-establish them and that still did not work. Noticed Adobe
does not want to remove itself now.

It is definitely Adobe: you need to either update it to be compatible with
Office 2007 or to uninstall it.
