Word Opens Only in Notebook View

When I open Word, it opens only in Notebook View. How can I change this so that it opens in Print Layout? I am a teacher working with a handicapped student and we're trying to reduce the overall clicks he makes. Notebook view is not useful for us.

Hi Brooke -

This is one of Word's "cutesy" habits - it launches using the same mode as
the last document that was open when the program was Quit. It should be
correctable by just launching Word, closing the Notebook file it generates,
then open & save an existing document file. Word should launch with a
regular document rather than a Notebook document from then on.

Alternatively you can use File> Project Gallery - Blank Document or click
the triangular arrowhead on the right edge of the Create New Word Document
button & select the type from the list.

If the suggestion doesn't correct it permanently it suggests that your
Normal.dotm template has been saved as a Notebook document. In that case,
follow the method on this site for testing/replacing the template:
