We just upgraded to win 2003 server, XP pro work stations and Office 2003.
We have been having users get the following error when trying to save
documents:
MS Office word needs a converter to save this file in the specified format.
Word can not install the necessary files due to the windows installer error
1605. This action is only valid for the products that are currently
installed.
The only way around this is to do a SAVEAS and hit the file types and change
the Word 6.0/95 to Word Doc. My question is why is this happening anyway
when the default save type to Word Doc. We're not specifying a specific
version to save to.
