word problems with printing new documents

I have a PC running Office Professional 2000 on Windows
XP home

Although I can open any document in Word whenever I try
to print them I have problems with the newer files on my
Samsung laser. These files printed fine when created.

I can print files created 18-24 months ago but newer
files hang my printer. If I open these files in Wordpad
they will print.

I apply all Office updates whenever they become available.

Any ideas - I have replaced the Normal.Dot file - no
effect
