Word program not responding

I have created a large report document with about 30
pages including tables, lists, etc.. All of a sudden the
Word application has stopped responding. Everytime I try
to open my Word files, response slows to a near stop.
Then it just seems to freeze with the hour glass
perpetually on. I have to use control/alt/delete to exit
the program.

I was thinking about reinstalling Word, but I tried to
open a saved copy of the document on another computer and
the same thing happens. So it seems to be isolated to
this document I am trying to finish.

Everything else on my computer is working fine. I have
tried all the help resources I can find. Anyone have any
ideas to help me?

PS. I tried the solutions with NAV and even went so far
as to un-install Norton. The document still locks up as
soon as I open. "program failing to respond"
