Word REF field ignores my font size setting

Dear group, i have a bit of a strange problem: I have made a document
with a bookmarked piece of text on page 1. Now I want to repeat that
piece of text in the header of my document. So, I use a bookmark to
mark that piece of text, and in the document header I use the REF
field to automatically insert that piece of text.

Now, this text in the header needs to be a specific size and font, so
I selected the REF field, and set the font and font size to the
desired values.

Now comes the weird part. When this text contains two or more words
devided by a space, Word will change the font size of the second word
back to the font and font size used on page 1! (The first word will be
correctly in the style I applied to the field.)

Does this sound familiar to anyone of you? Can it be solved, and how?

thanks,
Martin

People, I have the solution already: In the field's code it needs the
parameter charformat, like so:
REF Reference \h \* CHARFORMAT
