Word replaces next letter when I go back and type.

Hi,
I have Microsoft Word 2002, and I use it quite frequently, but
there is one minor problem. When typing for long periods, I go back
and see what I've written. When I go to replace something, and set
the cursor where I want to type, it sometimes replaces the next
letter, instead of adds letters when I type. It always heppens
unexpectedly, and I usually lose about ten words before I realize it.
Does anyone know how to fix it?

THANKS

You've accidentally toggled from Insert to Overtype, probably by
inadvertently hitting the Insert key when you were reaching for Delete or
Backspace, which is all too easy to do. To toggle back, just press the
Insert key again or double-click OVR on the Word status bar.
