Word requests virus scan

I have Word 2000 running Under Win 2000. Just recently
Word starting giving a message in the bottom of the
screen saying "requesting a virus scan" and it hangs up.

Anyone seen this before?

Disable the Office Plug-in in Norton Anti Virus options.
