Word resizes my pictures

I have a document with about 15 charts & pictures. I sized them each down to
readable & now every time I exit the document (& save), the pictures go back
to what they were.

What version of Word are you using?
What are the steps you used to resize the pictures?
Where did you save the file to?

Word 2007. I'm right clicking, using format & entering the size I want. I
have tried saving the file and doing save as but either way they don't remain
the size I made them. I ended up copying them into Paint, resizing there &
placing back in the document as new pics but don't want to do that every
time.
