Word scratchpad

Stefanos Blairos

I'm very new to this game, but am picking up things pretty quickly.

I was wondering though, I'm considering writing a small project that would
throw up a small textbox on top of the current Word document into which I
could drag and drop text with the intention of stripping it of all
formatting, which I could then Drag and drop back out again.

Do people think that this is a crazily complicated project, and if not could
they provide any pointers?

Thanks in advance

It is simpler to just select the text and then Ctrl-Q, Ctrl-Spacebar to
strip formatting other than paragraph styles. This could be put in a macro
and attached to a toolbar button or keyboard shortcut. What is it you think
your project will add to that?

Hi Stefanos Blairos

Given that you can type Ctrl+Spacebar = Reset font formatting and Ctrl+Q = reset paragraph
formatting. Yes, it's overkill as the text will acquire the default paragraph formatting
of the paragraph you drop the text into when you drag it back to the document.

I've never tried creating a modeless form and drag/drop between the document and the
UserForm only between controls on the UserForm.

Thank guys,

Don't you love the expressions "Can't see the wood for the trees" and
"Sledgehammer to crack a nut"?

Thanks for your advice
