Word - Search item not found

I have one user that when she does a search in Word will receive the error
"Word has finished searching the document. The search item was not found.".
Any word that she searched for will produce this error even if we are looking
right at the word. I have removed all the formating to make sure there was
no hidded data preventing it from finding the word, and I have double checked
the options to make sure it is not searching to caps only, etc.

Anyone ever have this problem, and if so how did you get it resolved?

Hi Tom,

What version of Word and what font is being used? Some 'decorative' fonts that look to text aren't seen as text by a computer. If
you are using a version of Word earlier than 2007 if you use
File=>Web Page Preview and use search (ctrl+F) in your browser is the text found?

We are using Word XP (2002) with standard fonts (Arial or Times New Roman).
I will check on the Web view and let you know.

Word 2002, Times new roman for a font, if I do File-Web Preview it will find
the word. It seems to hapen on evey Word document. This is very strange, is
there a way to rebuild the find database (if there is one)?

We've had this problem too, when searching for words in text boxes:

That's with Word from Office Pro 2k -- turns out Word doesn't search
within text boxes
UNLESS you SELECT ALL within the text box. If you do that, Word will
search within
the selected text. If you're using lots of chained text boxes to do
layout for a newsletter
or a magazine, this quickly becomes a huge headache. As for other
editions of Word,
I dunno.
