Word should have a blank book template

I am a teacher and I want to put a collection of the student's work in a
book. I would like to use regular 8.5 x 11 paper in the landscape. The
template would be set up with two pages on one page and the student pieces
could be copied and pasted into the template. I attempted to create a
template on Microsoft Publisher with little success. I tried to make the
template with text boxes, but it didn't line up correctly and it was
cumbersome to reproduce for multiple pages. Does anyone have suggestions. I
have already searched GOOGLE and the Microsoft Office Help site to no prevail.

Did you try the booklet option in Publisher? It is automatically landscaped,
Publisher will ask about four pages, click yes. Leave the first and last page blank
if all you are going to use is two pages.

Word can also create booklets, or, if all you want is to print 2 pages per
sheet, you can choose this setting in the Page Setup dialog.
