Word shutdown when not connected to home network

I bought a new HP laptop at Christmas. About 3 weeks to a month ago, I set up a home network with 2 desktops and the laptop. When at home and connected to the network, Word works just fine. If I disconnect form the network or use the laptop away from home, I get an box that pops up and says that Word has encountered an error and must shut down. It doesn't matter if it is a new file or a saved file, same problem. Anyone have any idea what is going on?

Install a LOCAL printer driver, preferably the same printer that you access
on your home network. Also clean up your hard drive following the advice in
this FAQ:
