Word shuts down by itself. Why?

I have been leaving my word open while i am out of my office and it is
automatically shutting down. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

If you have Windows Update set to update fully automatically, it can
download and install updates, close applications, and restart Windows
without so much as a by-your-leave. Some users have lost documents by
leaving them open and unsaved overnight (a dumb thing to do, so they deserve
their fate, but still...).
